AJM Healthcare and DrDoctor: Enhancing Digital Communication

We are pleased to announce that AJM Healthcare is working with the digital engagement platform DrDoctor to improve how we communicate with our service users.

As part of the initial phase of implementation, we are now sending text message communications through DrDoctor. Later this year, we will move to full integration between our systems, giving service users greater access to information and more control over their appointments.

Once fully integrated, service users will be able to securely view appointment details and correspondence online, as well as request appointment changes through the DrDoctor patient portal. While digital communication will offer a convenient new option for those who prefer it, we will continue to provide telephone support for anyone who would rather contact us by phone.

Planned integration work, scheduled for  August, will enable information to flow automatically between systems. This will reduce manual administration, improve efficiency and provide service users with easier access to appointment information, documentation and appointment management services.

Although the programme is still in its early stages, feedback from both service users and teams involved in the rollout has been overwhelmingly positive. 

The early results are encouraging. In May alone, broadcast messaging through DrDoctor reached almost 1,300 service users, reducing telephone administration by an estimated 107 hours. This means our phone lines are more readily available for those who prefer or need to speak with us, helping us provide a more responsive service. As the platform is adopted across more services and automation increases, these benefits are expected to grow significantly.

DrDoctor forms an important part of AJM Healthcare's wider digital transformation programme, supporting our commitment to using technology to improve the service user experience. By streamlining communication and reducing administrative tasks, the platform will enable our teams to spend more time focused on what matters most: delivering excellent care and support to the people who rely on our services.
