Important information about your Wheelchair Service and for service users living in Staffordshire & Stoke-On-Trent.
From 1st October 2026, AJM Healthcare will no longer be providing wheelchair services for people in Staffordshire and Stoke-On-Trent.
A new Wheelchair Service has been commissioned by Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB) and it will be provided by Ross Care. Ross Care’s dedicated team will provide a comprehensive wheelchair service, supporting service users at every stage of their car. Where applicable, the current staff will carry on providing your care by transferring to the new provider from 1st October 2026.

How does this affect me?
We will be transferring your care, which will include data and information about the care provided to you by the wheelchair service, to the new service provider, Ross Care and your position in the referral pathway will not be affected.
If you have an appointment scheduled up until 30th September 2026, please be assured this will go ahead as planned.
Ross Care will deliver community clinics across Staffordshire and Stoke-On-Trent. After 1st October 2026, the Wheelchair Service will operate from Ross Care, Tollgate Drive, Tollgate Industrial Park, Beaconside, Stafford, ST16 3HS. Clinic location/s will be discussed with you when your next appointment is booked. Facilities have on-site parking with accessible bays available.
Do I have an option to stay with AJM Healthcare?
AJM Healthcare will no longer be commissioned by Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB) to deliver wheelchair services for the population of Staffordshire and Stoke-On-Trent from 1 October 2026. Services will no longer be available at the AJM Healthcare locations.
What do I have to do?
No action is needed from you, We’re working with Ross Care to ensure all your records, including clinical notes are safely transferred.
On 1st October 2026, Ross Care will receive your details and become responsible for the Wheelchair Service in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. If you do not wish to have your information transferred to Ross Care, or would like to discuss this further, please contact us by 20th August 2026 either by email ssotwheelchairservice@ajmhealthcare.org or by telephone 0808 175 3996
If your information is not transferred, this will mean that you will no longer be a service user of the Wheelchair Service in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Therefore, you will be discharged from the service and any equipment on loan to you will need to be collected. Should you require any care from the wheelchair service in the future, a new referral will be needed by an approved referrer.
We have taken every care to make sure our service user contact details are correct and up to date. If you are no longer using this service, we apologise for contacting you in error.
